Unstoppable: How Tamekia Green-Judge Has Redefined Success While Navigating Society With Endometriosis

People shouldn’t be so quick to give up on those with physical limitations. We will accomplish our God given assignments. The physical limitations were a part of God’s plan for others to see Him.

As a part of our “Unstoppable” series, I had the pleasure of interviewing Tamekia Green-Judge.

A survivor of a rare illness that affects one in a million people, she knows firsthand what it takes to believe God for what seems impossible. Through that life-changing experience, Tamekia became a woman of unshakable faith who now teaches others to have the same. A wife, mom, successful CEO, and advocate for people living with rare diseases, she speaks to audiences everywhere on the power of faith in all circumstances.

Tamekia Green-Judge is an author, a speaker, and faith activator who is on divine assignment to inspire people to hold on to hope — even when they have nothing else.

While she writes and speaks, the call on her life transcends titles. With a lifegiving message that the world has been waiting for, when you meet Tamekia, it isn’t long before you know that you are in the presence of a woman who possesses the antidote for fear. Hard-won hope. Bold belief. And unshakable faith.

Power personified, Tamekia preaches from a place that only God’s grace could lead her to. Her testimony began when she started suffering from unusual symptoms that baffled her medical team. After two years of countless hospital stays, crippling pain, and clinging to the edge of her life, doctors finally diagnosed her with a rare disease that affects one in a million people.

Once on the other side of her physical healing, Tamekia realized how God had been preparing her for this moment all her life. The careers that taught her compassion. The urge to find the church where she finally discovered a deep relationship with Christ. The faith to believe that God is always in complete control, regardless of how hopeless a situation seems.

Left with scars that no one can see but a one-in-a-million story meant for everyone to hear, Tamekia is clear that God spared her life for such a time as this. In a world where it’s so easy to lose sight of the light that God promises on the other side of our darkest days, she is here to remind us to not forget our faith.

Through the power of her personal story, Tamekia encourages audiences everywhere to turn in one direction when life hands them hard things — and that’s to God.

Her story will stir your soul. Her message will move you. And her belief will assure you that when all looks lost, you can still have your faith.

Thank you so much for doing this with us! It is really an honor. Our readers would love to get to know you a bit better. Can you share your “backstory” with us?

A survivor of a rare illness that affects one in a million people, I know firsthand what it takes to believe God for what seems impossible. Through a life-changing experience, I became a woman of unshakable faith. I was a vibrant young lady, that later found myself suffering from unusual symptoms that baffled my medical team, and I didn’t realize until later, that I would soon be in a fight for my life. After two years of countless hospital stays, crippling pain, and clinging to the edge of life, doctors finally diagnosed me with a rare disease that affects one in a million people. I was diagnosed with Catamenial Pneumothorax and Hemothorax. It was a condition that caused my lung to collapse and fill with blood during menstruation. This episode would occur at least once or twice a month. The doctors were baffled, and I was afraid. After several surgeries and hospital stays, I was finally diagnosed with endometriosis in the lung. So, every month during menstruation, my lung would also bleed. The final surgery was a pleurectomy. A portion of my lung was removed, and the remaining portion was stuck to the chest wall. I am thankful, because I am still alive.

Do you feel comfortable sharing with us the story surrounding how you became disabled or became ill? What mental shift did you make to not let that “stop you”?

Saved by God’s grace, I had to learn how to live with a life-threatening illness and soon realized that I had been given a divine assignment to remind the world about the power of faith in the impossible. After several surgeries and hospital stays, the doctors gave up on me. The sickness sent me into depression. I had questions and was in search of healing without answers. I did not know if I would live or die, so I decided based on faith in God that I would live and not believe the report of the doctors; telling me there was nothing else that could be done for my condition. While in prayer, I heard the words, “This will not take you out”, so I allowed those words to be the game changer.

Can you tell our readers about the accomplishments you have been able to make despite your disability or illness ?

After going through my illness, I was able to author “One In A Million Faith Saved by Grace”. I started encouraging others not to lose hope or faith when faced with a life-threatening illness, or any illness that come to attack the body. I advocate so others will not give up. Despite the many people that told me I’d have to be on disability for the rest of my life, I work alongside of my husband with the companies we formed together.

What advice would you give to other people who have disabilities or limitations?

If you believe and stand in faith, we shall overcome.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are?

I am grateful to God for my prayer warriors and my Lung specialist. Without the prayers going forth and the lung specialist that took the time to listen, along with the patience not to give up on me, none of this would have been possible.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

I lead others through a powerful 30-day journey of healing through hope. My devotional is ideal for anyone who is struggling to find faith in the face of uncertainty, this book empowers you to dig deeper into God’s word, develop true trust in His timing and faithfulness, and hold on to hope no matter what.

Can you share “5 things I wish people understood or knew about people with physical limitations” and why.

  1. We are still human. Often, we are looked down on because of the limitations, where we aren’t treated fairly.
  2. We have greater compassion for others that deal with similar limitations. Most often it’s because we understand the pain they feel.
  3. God created us in the likeness of His image, with or without limitations.
  4. People shouldn’t be so quick to give up on those with physical limitations. We will accomplish our God given assignments. The physical limitations were a part of God’s plan for others to see Him.
  5. Though we are left with scars, we are still blessed. We were kept on purpose for a purpose.

Can you please give us your favorite “Life Lesson Quote”?

“Always trust God as you operate in blind faith”. In order to trust God, you must first believe. Once you believe, the hope will begin to manifest. As Hebrews 11:1 reads, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things unseen”. Hope, Faith and Trust in God will result in overcoming.

We are very blessed that some of the biggest names in Business, VC funding, Sports, and Entertainment read this column. Is there a person in the world, or in the US whom you would love to have a private breakfast or lunch with, and why? He or she might just see this 🙂

Joyce Meyer because her teachings encouraged me as I was going through my illness.
