Jitendra Gupta Of Blissfull Prosperity Solutions On The Morning Routines and Habits Of Highly Successful People

An Interview With Sara Connell

Patience and Calmness: The second thing I would say is patience and calmness. This is another trait that has played a significant role in my success. And, like, I see a lot of people who are very short-tempered because of this, their relationship gets spoiled with people. And when a person is very short-tempered, they cannot even understand things so deeply, and they have a difficult time having a great relationship.

As a part of our series about “The morning routines and habits of highly successful people,” I had the pleasure of interviewing Jitendra Gupta.

Jitendra Gupta, founder & CEO of Blissfull Prosperity Solutions, and author of five books, including “Busy to Highly Productive” book. He is authoring another book, “Distraction to Extreme Focus,” on enhancing productivity. His training and coachings have helped transform 5000+ people’s lives across nations in the last 14 years. He is on a mission to create Spiritual billionaires who enjoy spiritual bliss with material abundance and serves society so that everybody can live a life of joy, peace, and prosperity in the world.

Thank you so much for joining us in this interview series! Before we dive into the main focus of our interview, our readers would love to “get to know you” a bit better. Can you tell us a bit about your childhood backstory?

My childhood was normal; My father was hard working & honest person. My mother was a devout homemaker. I was the youngest of four children, so I got more freedom than my elder siblings.

I grew up with middle-class values of honesty, hard work, morality, and respecting our elders.

The thought that “Money lost, nothing lost, health lost, something lost but Character lost, everything lost” was engraved deeply in my psyche & I still follow it.

I was shy about talking to girls or dancing in front of a crowd. Later, all of these changed when I got involved with the Personal Transformation Industry.

I completed my CA (CPA) and then worked in the bank; to realize my calling to transform lives & serve humanity; now, I am in the Personal Transformation industry.

What or who inspired you to pursue your career? We’d love to hear the story.

Swami Vivekananda’s thoughts have inspired me in college; I was exposed to a lot of his literature and ideas of serving people.

I remember one of the teachings which was something like this I don’t expect everybody to be selfless like Guru Nanak, but if you cannot think of the whole world, think of your country; if you cannot think of your country, think of your community, if you cannot think of your community, at least think of your family. But for God’s sake, don’t only think of yourself. This one thought inspired me.

Since childhood, I have watched many patriotic, motivational, and inspirational films; those movies also inspired me a lot. Apart from that, the life of Lord Krishna has inspired me a lot. His teachings on Karma Yoga, i.e., you keep doing your Dharma without expecting anything in return.

Lord Krishna has had a significant influence on my life. Also, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam inspired me, so these are some of the inspirations that inspired me to dedicate my life to serving society and not just to think of myself and my family.

None of us can achieve success without some help along the way. Was there a particular person who you feel gave you the most help or encouragement to be who you are today? Can you share a story about that?

I would say it was my wife Saroj who has played the most significant role in whatever I do. Whatever trainings I have created, many things have come because of interactions between us; she always kept me grounded; otherwise, I would always have dreams and big visions, but then she always kept me grounded. She was more critical of what I was doing and what I was not doing, and I became much better because of all her criticisms.

Many of my training programs have come because she is critical and demands various things from me. Without her, I probably would not have created many programs and would not have improved a lot. So definitely, she is one of the most prominent people who’s responsible for whatever I am today.

And apart from that, my parents also supported me in whatever I did. They give me unconditional love and the freedom to do whatever I want. Without the support of these three people, it would have been impossible for me to follow my dreams.

For instance, after I left my job and dedicated myself to serving and spiritual growth, I was not giving much attention to money. Still, my wife made me realize how vital money is, so serving and growing spiritually is essential, but at the same time, we have a family, so even money is necessary to lead a good life. We used to have a lot of discussions and a lot of money arguments. Then finally, it was because of her insistence. And later on, I realized that what she said was true; money is essential. And because of that, the concept of a Spiritual billionaire came into the picture.

Can you share the funniest or most interesting mistake that occurred to you in the course of your career? What lesson or take away did you learn from that?

During the initial years of my career as a coach and trainer, I used to think I needed to give a lot of information to people. I wanted to give everything to the people. That is what would make the difference. But that was a mistake because I realized that people couldn’t take a lot of information, and even if they took it, they would forget it. And only knowledge makes no difference; I realized that instead of information, I need to focus on transformation.

Now all my programs are made in such a way that there is a transformation in my client’s life, and I’ve seen my clients getting fantastic results. But during the initial years, I gave a lot of information; many people would get bored because of too much information, and I used to think they were not attending attentively.

Later, I realized I needed to create energy, not give information, and focus on transformation. And those two things. I keep in mind and try my best to keep participants energized and provide the transformation they seek.

You are a successful leader. Which three character traits do you think were most instrumental to your success? Can you please share a story or example for each?

Taking 100% responsibility: The number one thing that has played the most significant role in my success is taking 100% responsibility for whatever I want in my life. This single principle has been the most significant factor in whatever success I have achieved in my life.

For example, when I was transferred from Bombay to Satara and my son was put in a school, I saw that he was not growing as beautifully as he could.

And when I talked to the school authorities, I realized that there are a lot of limitations; teachers are not that highly trained in understanding child psychology, and that was the time I took 100% responsibility that I could not change the school or system but still, I will create a system outside the school where my child could grow beautifully. And with that, I decided that I would become a parenting coach.

That year, I travelled from one city to another every Sunday, from Monday to Saturday. I would go to train myself as a parenting coach so that I can create an environment outside of the school for my child to grow beautifully. And then, as a result of that, I saw a lot of positive changes happening in my child.

This is one example of responsibility. Another when I saw that, for whatever problems we see in society, the root cause is a lack of spiritual growth and material prosperity and added absolute service to people.

So instead of just complaining about it, I started a spiritual Billionaire project, which would help create such people in the society who was spiritually grounded, materially abundant, and serve society. These are some examples of how taking 100% responsibility leads to success.

But because of this trait of patience, I have maintained my poise even in the most challenging circumstances. And I have maintained really good relationships with people, which if I had not been such calm and peaceful, I would have spoiled the relationships.

Some people call me Mahavir, a very peaceful person. So, this is another thing that has played a tremendous role in my success.

Empowering Context: Now the third important trait is Operating from an Empowering Context. Empowering context means working for a purpose that inspires and empowers me and others. So, whatever training, and projects I have taken, they all are inspired by a vision, a purpose beyond my immediate family and me. It’s about transforming people’s lives, the world, and society.

Similarly, whatever relationship I have built and even my relationship with my spouse, which was at one time going in a negative direction, got positive. Again, with an empowering context, I told her that we want to create a kind of relationship where we are the best of friends, our love children can grow beautifully, and our parents feel good and proud of us.

So, this empowering context has played a vital role. Our purpose for our Spiritual Billionaire program is to create spiritual billionaires who are spiritually grounded, materially abundant, and serve society, which is very inspiring for everyone.

So, this operating from empowering context is a third trait or skill that has played a vital role.

So, to summarize, number one is Taking 100% Responsibility. Number two; is Being Calm and Patient, and the third is Operating from an Empowering Context.

I’m an author and I believe that books have the power to change lives. Do you have a book in your life that impacted you and inspired you to be an effective leader? Can you share a story?

I have been a book reader from my college time on onwards. I’ve read many books, and each has contributed in some way or other. But I read one book by Robin Sharma: “The monk who sold his Ferrari.”

And in that, there was one particular quote from an Indian Rishi Patanjali, which was as under,

“When some great purpose inspires you, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds: Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties, and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.”

So, this particular quote made a significant impact on my life. And because of that, whatever projects I’m doing in my life itself are an example of this specific chord where I am dedicated to a purpose that is much beyond me. And I have found that because of this, I can now do things I’ve never imagined.

For example, when I was in school, I was timid. I would not talk much, and there was a stage of fear. But I can do all these things now because I have a bigger purpose. So many of my limitations, the boundaries I had, are broken, and I feel much more empowered and inspired.

What are some of the most interesting or exciting projects you are working on now? How do you think that might help people?

I’m working on the Spiritual Billionaire project. And I believe from the bottom of my heart that this project will make a big difference in the lives of billions of people. So, this is about creating spiritual billionaires or spiritual millionaires in the world. This is a person who is spiritually grounded, materially abundance & serves society.

So, if we can create such spiritual millionaires and spiritual billionaires in the world, this world will be much happier, peaceful, joyful, prosperous, and compassionate, where we will find peace and harmony

OK, thank you for all of that. Let’s now shift to the core focus of our interview. This will be intuitive to you but it will be helpful to spell this out directly. Can you help explain to our readers why it is important to have a consistent morning routine?

When I was in school, we had to follow a fixed morning routine because we had to go to school. And because of that, I build a lot of habits. For example, brushing the teeth, taking a bath, etc. But then, later on, as I became more independent, there was nobody to keep track of and tell me what to do and what not to do.

I became lazy; I did not have habits or routines I knew were important, but I could not develop those habits or those routines, and my energy levels were low. My days were unplanned and unorganized.

A lot of time would go waste, years passed, but nothing much happened. But then, I realized the importance of having consistency in the morning routine.

For me, the morning routine includes doing some exercise, then visualizing my life and my day, aligning myself resting in my spiritual self. I called it alignment and spent some quiet time learning something.

So, this forms a part of my morning routine. And I have found that since I started doing this consistently, my energy levels are ten times higher. I have been continuously I can. I constantly keep getting better and better ideas.

I’m more focused on my days and my priorities. And there’s a sense of fulfillment at the end of the day.

But if I don’t follow this routine consistently, I am unfocused. Energy levels are low. And this past time goes away without really achieving anything substantial. So, I believe having a ritual or routine and being consistent to get the maximum out of yourself is essential.

Can you please share your optimal morning routine that can create a positive trajectory for a successful, effective, productive, and efficient day? If you can, please share some stories or examples.

I will share my rituals. As I said earlier, I get up in the morning by six, and then after doing my hygiene stuff,

Physical Activity — I spend half an hour to 45 minutes on physical activity; it could be jogging or some other exercise, but generally, for me, it is jogging that is very easy. But if somebody can add strength exercises, gym, or yoga, that is also great.

Affirmations — The next part is reading Declarations (Affirmations), so I keep my mind focused on thoughts and habits I want to manifest in my life.

Alignment/Meditation — After that, I go into the Alignment State, which is a state where I connect with my Spiritual Self. And that gives me bliss, joins me to the universe, and makes me realize that who I am is an eternal, immortal being, and this world is just a play, a game, and a drama that is happening which I have to play 100%,

Emotional Visualisation — After that, I visualize my life & the day with a feeling as if I am already living the life I wish to live. It keeps me focused on my priorities & also activates the law of Attraction. After that, I spent some time just in silence, so it gave me ideas for action to be taken in my business or my life.

Review and Planning — Another thing I do not do in the morning but in the evening is; to make my plan for the next day; a written plan helps me keep myself focused. But some people can do it in the morning if they’re not doing it in the evening, but I find that doing it in the evening gives me much more clarity for the next day

This is the usual morning routine that I have, which keeps me energized; anybody will follow this, they will be energized, they will be able to focus on their highest priorities, and they will be able to get great.

Speaking in general, what is the best way to develop good habits? Conversely, how can one stop bad habits?

Your why — The first step in changing any habit is realizing why you want to develop or drop that particular habit, I know from my experience that this is very important for example — I wanted to get up early in the morning and go jogging because I know it has a huge impact on my energy levels; my relationships, my work and how I feel.

We need to understand the cost we are bearing currently for not having a particular habit or for having a bad habit and what can become possible if you develop a good practice or drop a bad one.

Hold yourself Accountable — But that is not sufficient. Even though you may have great inspiration, you may not do much. The second important thing is to have somebody holding you accountable. Being a part of a group of people who do the same thing will help. E.g., if you want to jog every day, be a part of the joggers who run every day.

For me, my daughter goes to school in the morning, and I must drop her at school. So that becomes indirect accountability for me because she will wake me up, and I have to drop her. So, there’s no question of forgetting or procrastinating. Some support system, some system by which you will do that thing, whether you like it or not. There is somebody who is holding you accountable for that. This is the second step, creating a system supportive system for your habit.

Shifting inner conversations and beliefs — The third is also to see the thoughts that you have. Now, this is another very, very big thing. What are the beliefs you have around that habit? Why do you continue to make particular habits? It is because you have certain beliefs associated with specific conversations.

For example, if I take the habit of sleeping, it usually would that the alarm would ring, and I would put it off, and thought is. Let me sleep a little more than I feel much better, and then I will get up. But before I get up, it’s almost another hour gone.

So that is one thought which is continuing that habit. So that self-talk has to be changed.

So, my new self-talk is “Getting up early is essential. Sleeping more has given me nothing. I want to keep my body fit. Energized, and it will just take time initially; it will be a little uncomfortable initially, but it will be easy later, etc.

So, if we shift the thought process and our self-talk, it becomes easy for us to develop a new habit or to drop a bad one because our behavior is a direct outcome of our beliefs.

Our self-talks change our beliefs, and belief changes our actions. Keep up with that new perspective, ideas, and self-talk, and you will have a new behavior.

Regular Introspection — The fourth thing is you have to do a regular introspection and review what is happening, what is it that you wanted to start, what worked, and what did not?

I have this daily habit of doing regular introspection, where I think about what I did, what I did not, what worked and what did not, and why something worked and did not.

This regular introspection has helped me to improve my productivity habits immensely. It allowed me to focus my time on Needle moving things instead of merely routine & maintenance activities.

And then is giving yourself some accountability. Somebody is holding you accountable, and you’re giving some reward or consequence for yourself, so if you give us some result.

For example, I had this thing with my daughter that I tell her I want to do this, say getting up in the morning. And if I don’t do that, I’ll pay 100 rupees to her, or I’ll give it to charity or whatever, some kind of consequence.

Give yourself consequences — Give yourself positive consequences if you are doing it and negative consequences if you’re not doing it. That will also keep you on track.

Doing something consistently “day in and day out” can be hard. Where did you get your motivation from? What do you use to motivate you now?

Trying to do something new can be challenging, especially in the initial days; it can be difficult because you’re used to thinking and doing things differently. So, changing those habits is tough.

So, what keeps me going?

Clarity of why I want to change that habit — The number one thing is why I’m doing what I do — having clarity of why I want to change that habit in the first place. I keep the impact in mind, the pros and cons of that habit, and more importantly, the bigger the why, more powerful the why is, the easier it is for you to keep going because it is your why that will provide energy; inspires you & keep you going when going gets tough.

Suppose you do not have a very strong and emotionally touching why then it becomes much more challenging to continue. For example, a practice of daily introspection. I know that it plays a huge role in managing my time and achieving my goals, and most importantly, it will help me achieve my mission of creating spiritual millionaires and transforming lives which is very dear to me.

This is something very close to my heart. So, if you can connect changing a habit with something emotional that inspires you, it will become very easy to continue working on a pattern.

What other resources would you suggest to our readers?

I think many apps and books are available nowadays to help you develop new habits and keep track. One of the things that I found helpful was the Success Wizard app for keeping track of habits.

Apart from that, to develop habits, one of the books that helped me out was “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People,” but the best way I would say instead of resources is to keep yourself accountable to somebody; I think that could be one of the best things you can do.

Ok, we are nearly done. You are a person of great influence. If you could inspire a movement that would bring the most amount of good for the greatest number of people, what would that be? You never know what your idea can trigger.

Yes! for me, the idea or the movement that is very close to my heart is the movement of Spiritual Billionaire.

This is important because we see problems of stress, insecurity, poverty, unemployment, crimes, terrorism, pollution, divorce, and separation faced by individuals, families, and society. These problems can be traced to a lack of spiritual grounding and material prosperity in individuals.

Suppose every person grows spiritually and is grounded in their reality and operates from that reality in the service of humanity. At the same time, they enjoy material wealth and abundance. Then, we can have a heaven on earth where every person can live a life of joy, peace, and prosperity.

I am also working on the same movement, and I would like to invite everybody reading this article to be a part of this Spiritual Billionaire movement.

We are very blessed that some of the biggest names in Business, VC funding, Sports, and Entertainment read this column. Is there a person in the world, or in the US, whom you would love to have a private breakfast or lunch with, and why? He or she might just see this, especially if we both tag them 🙂

If I were to choose one person, I would like to have a personal chat with, Ester Hicks. or Abraham Hick’s. That would be one of my dreams come true moments because there are many things, I would like to share with Abraham hicks; that would be fantastic.
